These terms apply to the Gigstrak app and the website at gigstrak.com ("Gigstrak", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
What Gigstrak does
Gigstrak helps you record trips, mileage, income and expenses, and estimate deductions and taxes. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for your own personal or business records. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and your account information accurate. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 to use Gigstrak.
Mileage, tax figures and receipt scans are estimates
Trip distances come from your phone's GPS and can be wrong, for example when the signal is weak or the phone is in battery-saving mode. Automatic trip detection can miss or split trips. Deductions and tax estimates use published IRS rates and simplified rules, and receipt scans can misread text. Check your records and correct them before you rely on them.
Gigstrak is not a tax adviser, accountant or law firm, and nothing in the app or on the website is tax, legal or financial advice. You are responsible for your own tax filings. Talk to a qualified tax professional about your situation.
Acceptable use
Use Gigstrak only for lawful purposes. Don't record mileage or expenses you know are false, try to access other people's accounts or our systems, interfere with the service, or use it to break the law.
Your records
Your records are yours. They are stored on your phone, so keep your phone backed up and export your records regularly from Settings > Export Data. We are not responsible for records lost when a phone is lost, reset or replaced, or when the app is uninstalled.
Paid plans
Gigstrak is free to use today. If we offer a paid plan, the price and what it includes will be shown before you buy. Subscriptions are billed through Google Play, renew automatically until you cancel, and can be cancelled at any time in your Google Play subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies. We will tell you in advance before we change the price of an existing subscription.
Changes to the service
We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering Gigstrak. If we stop offering it, we will give reasonable notice where we can so you can export your records. We aim for the app to work reliably but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Ending your use
You can stop using Gigstrak at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings > Delete account, in the latest version) or as described on our delete account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as the disclaimers and limits of liability, still apply after your use ends.
Disclaimer
Gigstrak is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Gigstrak is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, tax savings or business opportunities, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date above. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Gigstrak after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
