What are your miles worth at tax time?

Every business mile you drive for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart or Amazon Flex can be deducted at the IRS standard mileage rate. Enter your miles to see your deduction and roughly how much tax it could save you.

Count the miles you drive while working: to pickups, to drop-offs, and between orders. Personal driving doesn't count.

How it's calculated

Deduction = business miles × the IRS standard mileage rate for the year ($0.70 per mile for 2025; for 2026, $0.725 to June 30 and $0.76 from July 1, which averages about $0.743 over a full year). The tax saving estimate adds self-employment tax (15.3% on 92.35% of earnings) to the income tax bracket you pick. It's a rough guide, not tax advice. Your actual saving depends on your total income, other deductions and your state.

Keep a log, or lose the deduction

The IRS expects a record of each business trip: the date, miles and purpose, made at the time. Gigstrak records trips in the background on Android and lets you mark each one business or personal with a swipe, so the log builds itself while you work.
